Few people look forward to household maintenance duty. While they are important, they are not the most sought-after duties. They rarely excite any creative parts of our brains. The The consequence is creation of emergency due to neglect. A better approach to such tasks would be to break them down into manageable portions, and spread them throughout the year. A good way of doing this would be to assign a task to each month. Whereas some duties will still crop up, this method ensures no important duty is neglected.
We rarely venture outside in January. This is a great time to dust and vacuum the house. All that time should be enough to do a thorough job all over the house.
February allows you to venture outdoors. This is the time to clear out the yard. It is still cold enough to warrant careful clothing choices. Spring is fully present in March. Focus on your garden now. You can tend to it by preparing the beds and planting the flower you wish to see blossomed by Summer. There is a wide selection of such flowers.
Rains normally fall in April. You will have to ensure the attic is not in danger of flooding, by checking for leaks in the roof. You can also confirm if your insulation was not damaged during winter. Make the necessary plans to have those repaired.

October is the perfect month to have your heating system given a thorough maintenance check. Ensure they pay more attention to the radiators. The month of November presents an opportunity to inspect the lint trap of your dryer. This is to ensure it is not a fire hazard.
December comes with it a demand for adequate electrical wiring and up to date inspection. Since The holiday lights will be mostly on, they need to be properly working. This is the simplest and most efficient means of working there is.
